Got some heat related fuel problems with the Class C Motor Home.....

it dies out in the super heat and traffic, I suspect the fuel pump and so need to know what is the max pressure a Qjet can take??

I getting ready to do a manual change valve and put a Carter pump I have had for years, and get rid of this crap in there now....

AS I RECALL I had to cut the Carter pump back a lot on delivery pressure, using a inline pressure regulator to something like 4 lbs.....the Carter pump did knock the seats off the floats, and flooded it out....

so is my memory correct?? if so, what is a cheep source for pressure regulators down to the level a QJ needs???

:crap:

Gene,

My understanding is that Qjets like pressure no higher than about 7.5psi. I'm running between 6.5 and 7. I think your issue could be solved with a return line though, I think thats why the engineers went to the return line setup in the first place, to avoid vapor lock and boiling fuel. Does that thing have a return line? If it does and you just need the right pump, I have one your welcome to.

Thanks man, but I got under that SOB this AM, and changed some of the plumbing around, methinks with the filter before the pump that the thing maybe have been into a fuel perk shituation....it was bucking when in traffic here in OP on Kingsley Rd.....so I rerouted some lines and put the filter on the pressure side of the pump....give that a wack, methinks from way it was acting, and being so marginal....that it's a reasonable fix....

You might have got it- fuel pumps just don't have happy days pulling thru a filter.

I have done the vette that way for years, on account of I wanted to save wear on the pump,.....if any crap in the tank feed....

come think of it, I maybe have a better place to put that filter....hummmm??

Pretty standard is a 100 micron strainer (some call them filters) before the pump to protect it and then either a 30 before a carb or 10 micron before injectors for that protection.
