It certainly is an unpleasant job to move all that dashboard associated crap about repeatedly, to get the headlight switch out and in. And out & in, etc. And it certainly is a royal screwing, when you pay the higher price thinking you purchased the real deal USA part & get the Taiwan time bomb instead. Knowing how to ID the Taiwan one is as simple as WON - 2 - 3.

Original 68-77 & 78-82 Headlamp Switch’s ones have both of the vacuum port ID’ed by a raised number: a 2 and 3 raised numbers cast into the metal. GM/Delco stopped supplying these probably a decade ago. I can’t remember when.

Reissues Headlamp Switch’s are made in the original tools in the USA & have the exact same identification: a raised 2 & 3, as they should since they are made in the original tools.

Taiwan repro Headlamp Switch’s: No as in No 2 or 3 raised numeral ID on the 2 vacuum ports. These are imported & distributed by Ben Dover Products subdivision of Dewy, Screwum & Howe.

CAVEAT EMPTOR - I cannot present this info on the Foramen, their Constipator’s edit this type of info when I present it.

Tip compliments of CF Honorary NSV :D

PS I don't make em. Just ask your favorite if theirs has a raised 2 & 3.

Good information....

Sad that the CF is so badly screwed up

No list; just do diligence on your part CAVEAT EMPTOR !
You can almost always tell by just the price differential.

But always ask is it made in China or Taiwan or USA.
Those are the 3 countries supplying old Corvette parts.

Regretfully even that does always provide accurate info
We surreptitiously called a vendor asking about the country of origin and they said - "well we get in from a vendor in Ohio" but we knew the actual part was imported.

On the CF C3 now another (of many) are wondering why their PW switches are inoperable upon installation or quickly thereafter.
SOS another crappy Taiwan part.

The Constipators over there will not permit this info. But what the heck, they all have C5 C6 so they really don't GAS.

On those two assy's I have some good/clean NOS/USED parts for sale too, anyone need one, lemme know....
