Looks like I need to replace the clutch pedal lever. The little pivot shaft on the clutch pedal lever arm is badly worn.

Question: How do I do this? It looks like the clutch/brake lever arm are mounted on a common shaft. The clutch/brake lever assemblies are inside a steel stamped housing apparently. In turn, looking inside the windshield wiper compartment plenum, I can see a rectangular plate held on with four bolts. If I remove the four bolts, will the entire clutch/brake pedal assemblfy just drop out and down.

PS: The interior of the car has been removed and also the windshield wiper assembly has been removed. Also, the Power Brake Vacuum cannister has been removed.

Thanks

Yes, the four bolts in the wiper well are the others holding it it. You already have the booster out so you did the hard part. You can buy new bushings for the pedal ass'y from any Corvette parts house.

Here is what the bracket looks like:

Thanks. I've removed the four bolts in the wiper well and also I've removed the clutch and brake rods. The clutch/brake assembly still just didn't come out after I gave it a couple of gently of tugs. I removed one of the electrical connections. The remaining electrical connector has enough "play" to allow the mechanism to come out. So at this stage, I assume I need to get a little more physical?

Oh, second look. At the photo, I can see the four firewall housing bolts. So I see some other fasteners at the other end of the assembly? Thanks for the photo.

The picture is for a manual brake assembly so there are weld nuts on the flange that attaches to the firewall. Yours will have 4 holes that receive the studs from the booster (which you indicated you have already removed). The 4 bolts in the wiper well are the only other thing I can think of that is holding it in.

Maybe it's been in there so long, it just wants to stay there!
