I want to replace the Edelbock air filter atop my Edelbrock 4016 carb. Has anyone fabbed a cold air induction system on their C3? Any pictures, any after market system. Thanks, Jack
The most orthodox cold air hood for a C3 is an L88 hood with the air plenum chamber. It collects air for the carb from the high pressure area that exists in front of the windshield. You can still buy this system. It comes with a lower stock air cleaner base for the carb, a little top hat for the carb with a wire screen filter and a rubber foam seal that mates the lower stock air cleaner baseplate with the hood. In the hood is a proper aircleaner paper element.
i used the dual snorkle air set up off of a later model 80 and up l82 and i have noticed a big difference in how the car runs. i am using it on a qjet let me see if i have any pictures
We are working on one now for the 77 we are redoing. Found a hat for the carb that has a 3" tube out the end for a cone filter. The plan is to run a tube to the front nose and place the air filter as far front in the car as possible without getting into the headlights. We will be able to figure out the routing once the core support is back in the car however this is what it looks like now.
4 hood pins or reverse hinge the hood like I did,....is the only way you getting up/over air induction....I cut my rad support and bolted in a chunk of steel for support, flattened the ~3" tube a bit, and have two air cleaners on a Y pipe....
I think there is something on one of the sites....
