I would like to add one of these to my 82 vette, or is it even necessary since my floor is metal verses a earlier vette had fiberglass floors? Or would I be better off just welding brackets to my floor and then bolt cowl braces to that? Since my dash is out of the car now I figure now is the time to address this and avoid any potential cowl shakes.

Or were the fiberglass floorboards the cause of the cowl shakes in earlier vettes and my 82 won't be affected? I am almost a 100% sure this car has no birdcage rust or floor rust. I have checked in some of the more noticeable areas that C3's rust such as the forward body mount areas where you can see from the inside of the car and there isn'y even a speck of surface rust.

Being my car has a different dash and a/c would earlier braces even work?

I have all the other "B" pillar vert bracing on the car as well as door wedges but have to cut my doors for the male wedge piece still.

They early car saddle bracket might not fit your floor and the AC box is a problem also. If I were you, I would make my own bracket and braces.
