I think he said made by Rupp.

Cool, now drop a small block in it and you are good to go....

YUP, a mini small block.....:loveletter:

I remember some 30 years ago, my daughter being older than my son, we hatched a plot to kidnap daughter's pink Barbie Vette, C4 model, and put some motor in it, she got wind of that plot and hid the car away.....and told the ex, who killed the plot, damnit.....:surrender::smash:

Thought the history was interesting.

We have a 1960's late 1970's, " RED Chevy Jr", CORVETTE GO KART IN MINT ~ MINT condition with the display stand. The CORVETTE has a 5 H.P Motor, that just go's. The CORVETTE was just bought from an estate sale, the gentleman owned a chevy dealer and keep this one for himself. They were built by Rupp Manufacturing in Ohio on a fairly stock Rupp "Dart Kart" chassis, with the special Monza SS-replica bodies attached. They were initially made just for Chevrolet to give away at auto shows, traveling Chevy shopping center shows, Chevy exhibits at fairs, etc and even at Joie Chitwood thrill shows (a kart was used by clowns in their act, too). Later on, Rupp sold some on their own, and Chevy dealers could buy them for their own contests. Between 1965 & 1975, they were given away at ALL kinds of auto shows & fairs. From 1965-67 they were called Monza Juniors (Monza Jr) and were red. From 1968 to approx. 1971 the name was changed to Chevy Jr, a white stripe was added to the nose, and the color changed to a red-orange. After that, the color changed to blue. Some were painted white and used at "Safetyville" in Flint, which was sort of a miniature town for driver training.

Most of the cars in this part of the country seem over priced but I see some real unique parts.

Anyways, saw this today, the guy wants $350.

I've seen some great parts for sale, l88 heads, c2 side pipes, c3 tripower set ups, c2 hoods, but cars in the north seem unrealistic in price compared to Fl.

Got a kick out of these carts, figured I'd share.

I have read that some 40% of all vettes on the road, are registered here in Florida, and for sure I see a LOT more even in silly old poor town Jacksonville than I EVER did in the uber wealthy Wash DC region.....

Sounds right, and not rusted out.

hehe.....I had the club guru check out my '72 when buying it in '95, turns out it was an old show car, and spent most of it's 23 years in a garage....only had 130k on the clock....so it was the PURRfect candidate for this old hotrodder.....I sold my '87 vette in favor of buying a shark....so at this point, there is nothing stock about my car, from wheels through roof, except the front and rear bumpers...maybe....
