I have a problem. I need some custom headers for my tall deck engine. The problem is that I also have a custom chassis. So, when I spoke to one header maker out east they said they can make me custom headers but I have to ship the chassis to them in PA from CA which would cost about $4K just to ship the chassis, not including headers.

Here is the problem that Stahl is concerned about:

Notice the tube that goes from front to back? That tube goes right through the area that the headers would go.

Anyone know of a Header maker in northern California that might be able to do that job?

Thanks in advance!

Can't help you on the headers, but like Mae West would say, nice chassis come on up and SEE me sometime......:D

you get that custom made or you do it yourself?? I presume it fits a shark body/cage?? what are your plans with it??

There has to be at least 6 guys in so. cal. that could build those for you.

What you need are headers with split primaries. You can then snake one or more pipes around that tube and not worry about it. Just have the shop make the primaries slip on about halfway.

Seriously drooling over your rolling chassis...damn!!!

This was custom made by SRIII Motorsports, they are located just outside of Chicago.

This chassis was made specifically to fit a shark. Planning on running this as a road race and auto x car. It has a C5 front suspension and a c4 rear suspension.

have you seen these?

look IVE built several sets of custom headers, the best route is usually to buy a cheap comercial set and modify them to fit your car but theres kits available and if you can weld and fabricate its really not that difficult, i just takes a good deal of time

IF you were closer ID be glad to help you fabricate some for a very reasonable cost

I generally buy a pre-made collector (theres several sources) and possistion that on each side where I want it, buy a set of commercial headers ancut off everything that won,t clear then use SMURF TUBING to get a pattern and length idea for the new connecting tubes between,
SMURF TUBEING is plastic greenfield electrical conduit if youve never seen it!
