Whats the maximum allowable vertical endplay on the mainshaft (old points tach drive)

I have about 0.075" vertical play (shaft up/down) now and 0.055" on the tach cross drive.

Isnt that too much or?

I think you want to get to about .010 on the vertical although I have read by a pretty reliable source (NCRS parts guru Joe Lucia) NOS distributors are in the .030 range....
