Ever wonder why a spark plug fails ?

Looks like an awful manufacturing facility. The workers do look well fed and healthy.

I think here in the US, both political parties are really very guilty of the migration of factory work off to China. A defense, as seen here, is that the work is extremely menial and very booring and tedious. I'd really bet that most modern spark plug factories are extremely automated and labor free. Maybe this assembly plant was for specialty spark plugs? I'd guess that most plugs aren't made in factories like this.

Well I got this from Speedtalk and most seem to agree it's a subsidiary of Champion and a lot of them won't touch Champion's. Now they know they were right.

it is queit disgusting that people have to work like this but ultimately it's the consumer who makes this happen....

this is not going to be a very popular comment: it's the EU and US consumer who buys that crap at WallyMart and such that makes these things possible .....

I get a kick out of the guys who push a $250 filled shopping cart across the Wally Mart parking lot and bitch about all these US jobs being eliminated.....

if people don't buy this shit it's not worth producing it...... simple as that......

Totally agree, part of the reason I hate shopping at shit-hole-mart.

But a further point. You think about this. The average copper spark plug in a parts store will run you about $2.50.
Now, they can manufacture that plug, put it in a little box, put that box in a bigger box, put that box in a crate, put that crate on a truck, take that truck to the port, load the crate in a cargo container, sail that cargo container across an ocean, unload the cargo container in a US port, take the crate out of the cargo container and put in a tractor trailer, drive that tractor trailer to your nearest auto parts store, unload it and stock it on the shelf.

Everything in bold is an additional step required to get garbage from China. They can still do all that for less than what it costs an American (or hell, a Mexican) company to do it without the additional steps.

Really the only disgusting thing is that we, here in the states, think hard manual labor is disgusting. A few generations back, our ancestors took pride in it. That's why we need to import Mexicans to "do the work no one else will do".
