OK, I was fitting the headers and exhaust system from the parts donor car I have here. After a lot of cutting, welding, ...(system was all welded up, so had to be cut up to be removed) I managed to get the system fitting quite well under the car. However I do have 1 big issue and that is that the pipes pass under the hemispherical joint on my strut rods (the one that attaches to the bracket). This is an issue because these need to be greased regularly.

Is there a system that passes under the pumpking and is header back . The 2 systems I find are Hooker and Pypes and they pass under the joint as well

Input appreciated.

PS : I cannot go to a mufflershop since the car is basically undriveable.

Thanks

Yves

Wait till it's drivable.....:hissyfit:

I feel SO lucky to have Ricky at the muffler shop just 2 miles from me, he has been a life saver over the years, up in the DC region all they would do is install replacement pipes, no one bent shit, bolt on for high bux, what a stupid shituation due to all the Maryland EPA crap laws,

:censored::evil:

Does anyone know if the original mufflers on a 79 were angled or horizontally placed in the rear. For some reason my old system had the mufflers angled a certain degree. Both inlet and outlet are offset. Most systems that I see have the inlet offset and the outlet center.

Well, I cannot get the car in its current state to a shop. So I would have to order in all the turns, pipes and what not. Think that's a whole lot more expensive. Not to mention the fact that I might go to a sidemount system later, so a stainless would be a waste.

Currently the hooker super competition header back system seems the only one to fit the bill.
