Had an interesting time filming a segment on Thai TV last night with some Thai friends and members of the muscle car Thailand group.

Lookin' good man, I can't help but notice a goat convertible there, that yellow one....I used to have a '70 Lemans/GTO convertible....sold it in '98.....

They are great cars, haul some serious ass with them what is under that hood? a 400 or the 455?....Welder buddy across the river has a '68 Goat coupe he restored about 30? years ago, still in the garage, goats is how we met at a cruise night....

:cool::thumbs:

I note you the only vette there ....are there any vette clubs? or other vettes around? surely you not the ONLY vette in town....

The GTO I believe is a 400, but not only rare but a perfect restoration done here in Thailand.

Cool pictures. Very, very cool....

I am impressed by the high level of finish on all of the cars.

Is this for an up coming show in Thailand or some kind of news event?

Can you name the program and channel? My wife watches a lot of Thai TV so maybe she'll have access to it. Every couple of weeks or so, she goes to a local Thai video and buys a big stack of DVD's that have Thai TV channels on them. Sometimes, the programs are just a few days late.

The Thai TV store used to rent cassettes that required returning. The cassettes were so cumberson that they started recording instead on DVDs. Now instead of renting, she just buys DVDs and gives the DVD's a toss when she finishes watching them.

OK as soon as I have a airing date and channel I will let you know.

Wow, beautiful collection of classic iron (and fiberglass) there. Love those old ponchos. That blue TA looks just like one a neighbor used to own.
I say "used" to own because the guy had a brother with a drinking problem. Actually it wasn't so much a drinking problem but a stupid problem. One day he asked his idiot brother to move the car out of the driveway. Unfortunately, what his brother heard was, "hey drunk dumbass, go take my car, blast around the neighborhood and run it head first into a cinderblock wall". Which he did. Hit the wall so hard he managed to bend the trans tunnel. Scratch that TA.

My wife recognized the host of the TV program. I'll try to spell his name with english letters: Pahn-yah-nit-lahn-khun. She showed my parts of one of his television programs she has on her DVD's.

The show will air on channel 7 July 13 at 10pm, I will try to translate to English what the show is called,Chin Roi, Chin Run...........

Sweet ride, love those things, they are great cars....I had a bunch of hotrod tricks on mine, the 455 was DPFI, if you have a old Feb '95 copy of Hi Perf Pontiac there, it's the Lemans issue, look up Injected Madness.....that's me.....

still have the manifold setup....

My wife recognized your Chin Roi, Chin Run spelling! I think she pronounced it
Ching Loi, Ching Lhan. Which my wife says is "Race for 100, Or Race for 1,000,000." I would guess that "race" for 100, etc, is really more accurately "compete for 100," etc. Anyhow, my experience is that there's often a problem for Thai's translating 1,000's, 10,000's, 100,000's into english.

Finally got to see the video of the television show this weekend. I was disappointed! They interviewed quite a few of the car owners, but if they interviewed you, you weren't on the video. They did give pretty good coverage of your car though. Perhaps not being Thai was an issue?

Listening to the interviews, my wife was surprised to discover that several of the cars in the show had been brought to Thailand in pieces and then re-assembled in Thailand to avoid Thai customs laws preventing old cars from being imported. I told her I knew this since you had mentioned this in a previous post.

You are correct my interview was not good as my Thai is poor and the show is mostly a comedy so my bit was not to funny. Actually when I was asked to show my car i stipulated that I wont do any TV appearance and my friend was supposed to do the talking but he was asked to do some other things so I was left to do the interview. As it turned out I a lot of the cars their were omitted form the show...time constants. But all the cars there did get there picture posted in the end.
