thought i might post a few pics of a very good friend of mine, who draws for a hobby.
he ALWAYS draws a fault into his work, dont ask me why, he just does....
anyway...check out these pics..thay are all actual cars, and bikes, the pics were scalled up from the roiginals.
the mustang.... it has a bent seat..
flamedstang.jpg

the shelby... missing a rear wheel spoke
damosshelby.jpg

this one was hard to find the fault.... the "S" on the front fairing isnt lined up...this is one of the few drawing that would look wrong if the fault was too obvious,so he toned it down a bit.
valentino rossi on the honda before he switched camps.
bike.jpg
and the best til last....the deatail work is incredible.... the chrome work looks so real its not funny....
missing the vette badge, and only has 3 lug nuts on the front wheel...and the side gills, come out instead of it..... again...it doesnt lookk out of place, and you need to study it to even notice....

To avoid Copyright Infringement????????
The US Copyright Office says, "As a general matter, copyright infringement occurs when a copyrighted work is reproduced, distributed, performed, publicly displayed, or made into a derivative work without the permission of the copyright owner."

If he changes something in the pic then it is no longer an exact reproduction.
It is also a way of signing his work.
Just a thought...........

I have a brother who can draw like that.....wish I could.
Awesome Pics....thanks for sharing........

valid point re- copyright...
he draws from actual photos... the flamed mustang is a pic he took himself, and the rest he found in magazines....
he doesnt sell any, nor will he draw a pic of someones car...he tried that, but someone always complains, so he just draws for himself, frames them and they hanging in his house.

Take a look see at www.mackair.com he is the guy that put that shark that used to be on my hood some years ago....

I stop by say hello when passing through.....

the man is REAL good with that airbrush stuff, he makes it look insultingly EASY .....it's NOT....

Very nice renderings. They look like pencil over marker, not to many illustrators doing that technique these days.

Someone complains?

Well, if he wants a pic of another vette to draw, lemme know. He can do mine.

i really enjoy looking at airbrush artists,,,, hell of a talent, that i believe cant be tought...i think people are born with the talent...same as music people...
KILLERPAINT is also a great site....mike lavalee...INCREDIBLE AIRBRUSH ART. and THE INVENTOR OF TRUE FIRE.

Years ago when I had my Panhead, a friend of mine did a handpainted eagle on the tank. Wouldn't sign it, but did put the dot between Harley and Davidson in blue while the words were in yellow.

looks really good. there was a time, when i was in HS and spent 4 years in 'art' because it was an easy elective that i was almost that good. my teacher used to get mad at me because all i ever wanted to draw were cars. of course, all she ever wanted us to draw were bricks and broken bottles. people used to tell me i should pursue it but i just never really had the heart for it. i draw very seldom now, mostly just doodling when i'm bored. i imagine if i had stuck with it and improved myself, i could have done that. but then again, "art" shouldn't be work.
