Flat heads for ever

I saw a blown flathead a couple of years ago. The guy told me it was all brand new stuff. I had no idea.

I've heard Mr. Duntov worked for Ford before he moved to GM. The external dimensions of a Ford Flattie and the SBC are amazingly close. IF there's a Flattie in there a SBC will fit.

Those odd 4 bolt holes on the front of a SB? Saddle mount they used back in 55-56-57. Funny thing- the Flattie water pump mounts come out in about the same place.

There's no place where a Ford motor resides that wouldn't be better were there a SBC in its place. :harhar::stirpot:

I don't know.. The 5.0 coyote in the 2011-up muskrats is pretty stout.

Henry Ford was an arrogant bastard or put another way he had a big head

The Coyote motor is a tribute to him (it has two big heads).

I have a friend who's following my Spider build... wanted to do the same idea to a Miata; but he's a Ford guy, so had to have a Ford..... so he bought the motor and trans from a wrecked mustang.... then realized, because of the motor width, he wouldn't actually be able to turn the car...
