If you needed a frame for a 79 would you buy one that had the front clip replaced? I looked at a 79 L-82/automatic that is begging to be cut up and am wondering if the "clipped" frame had any value to anyone.

For the most part I would agree with TT. Now I must say there is a buyer for everything though and if you have one to sell someone will want it clipped or not. I have a 73 in the garage the is in need of a frame in a bad way. I plan to modify a stock frame when I do it so it being clipped wouldn't bother me providing on the quality of work done and the price.

I would go for an unwelded one. If I really needed one.........well, you take what you can get. These cars are not getting any younger either, and Chevy ain't making no new stuff for them either. I think we'll start being a little less picky as time goes on. There will always be some jackass that has an unmolested "original" that makes all of us cry, but that can only last so long.
I feel disconnected with all the cold crap I'm taking, that make sense?

I'm ready to:suicide: If I don't get better very soon. (I'd only shoot myself to releive pressure in my sinus cavity. I couldn't really commit sideways)

There are plenty of good untouched frames out there and if I was replacing my 79 frame I would opt for one that has not been messed with. However depending on the price the clipped frame would be great for selling in sections and you might even make more money doing it that way.
