Looking forward to get a bare frame shipped from NJ,USA to QC,Canada.
If someone knows a good & cheap transport solution, let's me know :D

Drive and schlep it yourself......unless you got 50 billion bux and a IN with a freight company, then you gotta worry about customs at the border....

:sos::rain::(:suicide:

I'm currently looking if my daily driver, a cheap KIA, would withstand it.
Customs, yep, that's another problem. I'm buying it from an individual.
Anyone ever tried to get a corvette frame through the USA/Canada border?

Helicopter??:rofl:

The frame weighs a little less than 300 pounds. There's a moving company here in CA that advertises they'll pick up and deliver anything anywere. (That's the claim.) Maybe you can find a similar company by using Google.

Perhaps ship it from NJ to someplace in the US close to the border? If you could have the frame delivered to a motor freight company, you could have them transport it to a freight terminal in the US near the Canadian border. There you drive with a trailer pick it up and take it across the border by yourself. I bought a engine from from a place in Texas and they shipped it to a nearby freight terminal. I rented a truck and picked it up at the terminal.

The frame is pretty easy to handle by one person on level concrete. I use one of those furniture dollies, it's 3 feet square with four casters. Balancing the frame on top of the dollies allows you to pretty easily roll it around. Also, if you don't mind scratching it, one person can roll and tumble it along on a flat surface. Two people makes handling it a lot easier of course.

The case about the frame transport is pretty close, I'm having a trailer hitch bolted to my car tomorrow, and found a guys to rent me his trailer.
I made an arrangement with the seller to meet somewhere halfway, so this will be just a one day trip.
For the custom, as far a I read, since it's just a bare frame, it's just random stuff, not a car, I'll just have to pay the taxes.
Case closed.
Thanks to all of you.

Done! The frame is now sitting in my garage, Customs were not a big deal, even if they couldn't believe the price I paid, hopefully the ebay bid page was there to confirm. The taxes were around 15% like any other goods.
They asked for a serial number, but they didn't even check, told them it was on the windshield frame. I'm wondering how i would import a birdcage.

Was the engine number stamped on the frame? As I remember the number stamped on the engine was also stamped on the transmission. I think I remember reading it was also stamped on the frame. I have a spare frame but that's no help since its an NOS frame sold as a replacement part.

The birdcage does sound like being harder to ship. If you do bring one into Canada, hope you don't run into the same customs guy. Once he sees the birdcage he'll for sure think your trying to import a car piece by piece!!!!!
