I recently acquired several antique brass instruments, 3 trombones and an E flat alto ? horn, it looks like a French horn. Two of the trombones are Frank Holton models and as far as I can tell, one has no serial #'s which puts it in the 1896-98 production range. The second Holton trombone I have is a "Revelation" model and has a serial # in the mid 600's which dates it around 1904. The third trombone is made by the New York Band Instrument Company serial # LP29910 (12). Frank Holton played trombone with the Sousa band before going into instrument manufacturing.

Does anyone have any idea as to the value of these instruments? I want to sell them.

They were probably worth big money at one time. Unfortunately, unless it's a sax or maybe a trumpet, it's not going to fetch much. The only market for trombones are high school marching bands.

Even saxophones don't have much value.... mine is wall art

Try a music store for values; many of them buy and sell used instruments. That said, unless it's historically significant, it's not worth a huge amount because the chinese have been copying them for decades.

Two of these trombones are over 100 yrs. old. The oldest dates from Holton's first manufacturing facility in Chicago. I am wondering if it does have any historical value???

The first 2 pix show the 1896-98 trombone. It is hard to see but it says Frank Holton, Frank Holton on it.100_1592.jpg

The second two pics are of a Frank Holton Revelation model circa 1904
