Over the years I seen a lot of catty comments about using rubber fuel line rated hose for carb feeds why?? just pretty?? or what?? I been using them for decades and never an issue...long as it was FUEL hose typically 3/8

and so over the years I have seen at various car show, this outward braided pretty hoses used for all applications....looking UNDER the red and blue end fittings, I see hose clamps....

then I noted the FI hoses recommended in marine applications 20 years ago...Aeroquip...I used double clamps at 40 psi pressures...never a problem...

so all these guys wanting all this stainless/etc....just what is the issue???

just for show??

is there a serious safety/mechanical problem with my fuel plumbing practices over the decades...??

:twitch::eek:

not all the red/blue pretty stuff is hose clamps you know. If you sue real aeroqui, xrp or a lesser but adequate brand like russel or earls you will have a much easier to service and safer fuel system. I don't have hose w/ hose clamps on my car anywhere. I detest that stuff.

Any rubber hose on the pressure side of the fuel pump could cause a problem. Unless you are vigilant in maintaining and inspecting rubber hose, a pinhole or a crack will spray fuel.
Unless you use good Aeroquip or some hose like that it could be a disaster waiting to happen.
