Back in the days of unrestricted beach access in Daytona, this was a daily affair, numerous vehicles every day, during peak times. Almost always, tourists would park on the beach and go to local bars or whatever, with no idea of tide movement.
When the cars were deep enough, the tow trucks in Daytona at least were bright enough to stay dry and winch them out.
Certainly wouldn't want to keep one of these cars very long.
And ya, they're a dying breed, but Florida hillbillies can put other states to shame. I remember way back when, they used to carry sawed off pistol grip mini14s in their pick'm ups, no fun hunting unless you were poaching at nite and using cats for bait when shark fishing.
