Golly, do the cops seem to be overzealous lately?

guarantee you it's the tightest MV law enforcement in the nation....

No its not. Colorado is. They are nazis. I lost my license there.

DC is a bunch of wienies.

Funny, but in fact I remember being stopped only ONCE by a DC cop....some 40 years ago....let me go, not even a warning....

but all the rest in Faryland....

Friends in the Feds told me that there was a 'unofficial ring' of 100 miles around the Capitol, in which LEO work on 'enforcement' is greatly stepped up....

having spent enough time in various spots to get a read on it....I think he is correct....

Just another form to form of taxation.

I agree there, you should see how much they collect with the trucking industry.
tickets are 250 $ and over and not rare to see 1500$ infractions.

Yeh, and then you get to inhale some acid/etc fumes like a old work friend did, lost his OTR Hazmat endorsement on account of it, so had to take off, he is OTR again, but no more Nuclear hauls...

:banned:

truckstop is full and you have to get to another one down the road and get caught in between, just beeing 15 minutes over your hours of service can get you a 1500$ ticket in Maryland or Vermont for example.

And if they dont catch you there you're still not safe, they do log audits at the transport companies and they can track where you been.
If it doesn't match with what you have logged they fine you there.

Over the years I heard of guys keeping 2-3 sets of books, and shit like that, to the point some claimed the cops would do a cab check, like they looking for extra books or drugs, whatever....

never in the trade, so dunno for a fact....

I can't figger how in hell to juggle miles and times and routes, etc...to be able to KEEP many sets of logs....but heard it's possible....

yeah we used to do that, 20, 30 years ago
All you had to do was a new log every day with a good night sleep marked wherever you started that morning.
it was easy nobody could check anything.
nobody could prove where you were that morning.
The next day...new log book was done and star over again.

I cant count how many times I took loads of produce from Los Angeles to Montreal in 3 days.
Now thats a 1000 mile a day.

Now with the satelites, gps and crap they can pinpoint where you been at anytime, anywhere.
+ the trucking co can be fined also if they dont control logs.
Now since they can be fined... evrerything got to be legal.

AND lemme guess, hardly worth the effort anymore....it's not a normal life, I read some articles and talked to some guys over time....so for all that, they going to pick you to death over 15 minits....typical .gov Faryland nitwit....

thank you Harvard....

Yes , if you pass youre driving time by 15 min you are a threat to society.
youre a very dangerous person who put a lot of lives at risk.

Yet, if youre an intern in a hospital and been on the job for 36 48 hrs and sometimes more, and make life and death decision with patients you will be glorified.

BTDT, my ex, the kids mom worked 35 years at the NLM, NIH, and so met many a med doc that was burnt out but good, heard a few stories along that vein....as well as FF/EMT types on the front lines, and nurses...

shit ceases to be funny after a while...

but you know. more .gov is the answer, we just need fine tune the regs a bit...
