If so, I have some advice for you. Go into the garage and pick up the biggest mallet you have. Then hit yourself in the dick until the thought goes away.
Giant POS right there.
You're welcome.

Rented one many moons ago and liked it. Even thought of buying one, but here they cost $40,000, used. So what is the problem? let me guess its as dependable as an old C3......:tomato:

Rented one and I agree it's a pos ... Overall quality sucked, Interior looked very cheap although the car is anything but cheap, gas mileage was a joke for a small 2 liter engine and when I put the pedal to the floor acceleration was hardly noticeable... Maybe they improved the later model years but I doubt it.
The design is pretty cool but I think PT = 'polished turd'

Karsten, come on now there is nothing cool about a pt cruiser

clutch, you can let it out how do you really feel about the pt cruiser

I roll one....and while it is a woman's car....it is much better in the snow than my camaro. Not to mention now my camaro will not rust. I can't complain much, it was free with only 60k miles. It is the deluxe model with leather so I can't say the interior is shitty for an American car.

My wife loves hers, 2005 PT.. I don't really ever get into it, it's more of an "I put it on thing". No great deal of performance, but it gets her around easier than my 1-ton dually. And so far, it's been reliable.

Ignoring the noise, lack of performance, poor quality interior and bizzare control layout for a moment, what I hate about these cars is their massive blind spots.

The PT Cruiser is the only car that will make me walk back to the rental desk and ask for an exchange.

OK, now that I have your attention, here's my gripe. First, a little full disclosure, I hate Mopar crap, always have. Thought it was shitty engineering and this thing has just proven that. Any car that includes the instructions "evacuate the AC system" just to change a timing belt or water pump is a shit design. I was able to do the job without evacuating the system but I see why that step is there. Probably added about an hour to the job working around those lines. But that's not all, plenty more "what the fuck were they thinking?" bits involved. Done quite a few timing belts on quite a few different vehicles over the years. This is the worst design I've seen.
I feel sorry for Fiat.

While that sounds pretty ridiculous, I have to remove the wheel, inner fenders and the engine mount to do the timing belt on my wife's Saturn Vue. It's also a 5 hour job to replace the thermostat. One of the steps is to remove the intake manifold :banghead:

My point is, Chrysler isn't unique in its idiocy.

Not unique, but it excels at it. Trust me, removing the pass. side inner fender guard and motor mounts is just par for the course on any FWD car. And changing a t-stat? On the POS Cruiser, you have to pull the upper plenum to change the plugs, wires or coil module. Thankfully, it's not that bad a job to do.

ALL you all be amazed how much redesign I do on my cars over the decades, just to make shit easy to service, cut fender wells, patch panel, relocate crap, leave those under car 'fairings' off, much less other stuff....

I had a PTC, it would have a V8 in it of SOME sort....
