Having problems with getting on this site

Maybe its my computer, but somehow the vettemod website seems to load very slow. Certainly when trying to post its a total disaster. I do not have the same problem with other sites.

Am I the only one having this problem ?
 
No problem here.

A couple of years ago I was in a pretty remote area of Thailand. I had access to a computer with a high speed link (it wasn't dial in). Most days, Corvette Forum just wouldn't load, however Vettemod loaded just as fast was it does here in LA.

I looked into high speed cable links for home computers in Thailand. I was think about paying for a cable link to my wife's sons home computer ...never did. Anyhow, in Thailand, a high speed cable link pretty much guarantees high speed linkages to anywhere in Thailand, but for international connectivity, there can be a traffic problem since the countries international bandwidth allocation isn't totally adequate for the country (that's what I read).

...So maybe your problem lies with Belgium's international internet linkage. Also, I saw an article, didn't read it, but the article stated something to the effect that Belgium has been without a government for a while now?

Hope your problem goes away soon.
 
I used to have problems with IE. Switched to Firefox a few years ago and everything loads much faster.

Only problem with firefox is memory leaks.

Same thing for me, at home or at work, somtimes pages can take up to 10 sec to load.
 
it's always super fast for me (then again, almost everything is w a 160Mbit/sec connection ;) )
 
Posted the above post and the site was really fast.
Then tried to look at another post and got this from Chrome
"Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error."
Kept getting this from 10:05pm to 10:11pm approx 6 minutes.

During that time I was able to connect to
these European sites within a couple seconds each.

Thought it was a bottleneck with the overseas cables???, if that's what they use, but maybe not.
Something must be overloaded somewhere.
Usually this site is faster than some domestic sites, specially since there are no ads loading.

FYI: Almost all internet traffic is via underwater fiber optic cable. Satellite links have delays (because of a minimum 44,000 mile up and down RF delay). Also, simple fiber optic link has a large number of gigabytes bandwidth; it takes a big expensive comm sat to match the bandwidth and the satellite probably doesn't last more than 15 years.

VetteMod is hosted by Godaddy and there servers are (I assume) in the US.

I don't know who are the VetteMod admins (you BBShark?).
They might have a look at the serveur stats, maybe some sudden bandwidth demand hikes.
Just my .02c, I didn't ruled out yet the idea the problem is rather with my connections being crappy.

One of the things that has worked really well at VetteMod is; the admins and moderators don't look any different than a member. We like it that way. It's an ego trip at most sites.

I will check the bandwith usage and see if something has changed.

Anyway, seems that the problem also occurs on my work computer, so it's probably somewhere in the links.

Maybe it's just Belgium, if the link works just as slow as forming a government...:surrender:

Maybe you're firewalled like China.:devil:

For some reason I always thought that this site was hosted in Europe, but it's in the western US.
Two of Google's larger server farms are close to you in the Netherlands, so I would think you get most stuff the's cached, pretty quick.
