I just replaced my headlight actuator rod seals and forgot to tackle a minor issue while I was at it.
My '73 passenger head light bucket doesn't open up quite as far as I think it should. It is close but definitely a bit lower than the drivers side when both are raised. Both doors look the same when closed.
Is this just a simple matter of adjusting the clevis eye on the end of the actuator rod or is there more to it than that?
Also, when replacing the rod seals, the plastic bushings in the ends of both clevis eyes were both in very bad condition and were not suitable for returning to service. To get me by, I greased the eyes and pins with a waterproof marine grade grease and they seem to work fine. Are these bushings necessary? If so, is there a good source for them? Or a good substitute?
Thanks guys,
