Eventually I have to install the new heater core that's in the box with the layer of dust on it. Who's done it lately, and how long did it take? Any special problems to look out for? Non a/c '69.

Thanks,
Mike

Did one some 13? years ago, just before moving here, in my '72 a/c car....

I can't see why a non a/c car should be any more complicated....the largest thing to watch for is that ONE periferal bolt of the typical housing that is reverse oriented...IE bolt/stud pointing the other way....

I dunno why, but it was a common GM assy technique for any of their HVAC housings....

the hoses should be fairly obvious, the rest is a plug in.....no rocket science,....

except the recover in the hospital from your back pains....

:thumbs::crap:

It's not terrible, but it's no fun either. Take the right side dash panel out, then under the hood, find all the bolts that hold it to the firewall, then find the one that's hidden inside the car. Be careful when you start pulling the box. That old sealer they used is probably dried and real hard. The box will give up just before the sealer does. Maybe a sharp putty knife to cut the sealer.
