Hey fellas, and fella'ettes! Most of ya'll already know me from the CF,so glad to see you guys here.I have been here looking around several times in the past, but never joined. This is more my speed, and interests, anyways!
Some of ya all know I was a supporting member on the CF for several years, and when the economy went south alot of the Corvette supply houses I was a dealer for came to the CF,and I started leaning t'wards the performance side of our hobby be it Corvette,Cudas,Mustangs,Camaros...whatever.
I just gave up my supporting vendor status on the forum to pursue my e-commerce store that is being built as we speak,so please look for vbdperformance.com in the near future. My Vettes by Design is still alive, and well, and currently trying to upgrade the site, and stay on it more, and try to focus more on cyber space, than just building cars.
Anyways,I do know alot of you guys from the forum, and it's good to see you guys here.I'm more into the performance side of the hobby, and modifications vs. the trailer queens.I LOVE all vettes, and the NCRS type have their place, and are the foundation for all our cars, but also, like to build on that to personalize them, and make them go.....:drink:
I'm done running my piehole.Cheers to all,and good to see you guys.Alot of very knowledgeable guys here, and looking forward to learning, and sharing what I can. That's what makes us a community.
If there's anything that ya all need...I carry alot of used parts,a dealer for most Corvette supply houses, and am a dealer for over 500 of the top companies selling performance parts.Give me a shout.I can price match, and will match,or beat all the online big boys! That I will....
Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks fellas! It's glad to know most of you here.Missed you guys, and your knowledge.
Been looking around here the last couple days, and really like the sight, and the direction that Twin Turbo, and BBShark went w/this.
Thanks again for the warm wishes.
Kevin

OH, one more thing...gotta LOVE your avatar/pix there.....:pprrtt::shocking::amused::beer:

So kevin, CF didn't try and boost you for $275-$850 a month to post threads like they did to me?
Probably because you don' rebuild trailing arms or differentials or cater to the few there that do.

Yea...they tried to boost me,Gary. One of the moderators pm'ed me after I gave up my7 supporting vendor status, and told me to sell parts...I needed to become a supporting vendor.I told him I gave up my supporting vendor status, and was NOT selling any NEW parts, only used parts just like the other guys in the parts for sale section, and I never heard anything else, and will keep selling off parts there until they x me.
They probably jammed you up,cause they know that you provide a rebuild service, and wanted to make SURE that they didn't miss out on any coin from you.
I never saw anything on you,but the supporting vendors have their own forum area, and there was alot of sniveling going on over there.I didn't check it out much, and never posted in that section, but the little I did see...alot of crying going on.For real.
I did/do make money off the new parts that I have available, but most months...it was my used parts that kept the lights on here when the economy took a crap.
When I was on the forum back in 2006 when I became a supporting vendor, and started selling new parts...alot of guys wanted to see a website, like any secure business would/should,so built a half ass web site, but chased my money on the forum, and my site was to just "show".I'm a small shop/business,and can't compete w/the big boys on the Corvette parts really, and alot of my suplliers "joined" me on the CF,so I changed directions, and starting leaning t'wards the performance parts side, and when the CF came left at me.....for a upgrade(I paid 300.00 per month for 3 years),I decide to go a different direction, and work w/my web site provider, and build this e-commerce store w/all my parts available(thousands upon thousands, and some more thousands!!!!),and my www.vettesbydesign.com site, and pay for them, and for my provider to do that "search" crap to bring me to the top of all the major search engines on key words/phrases,and let people come to me vs. me chasing the coin.I have tech support, and doing most the work myself, but for both the web site, the e-commerce store, and the search engine support.....it's 150.00 per month.Half what I was paying at the CF,and I won't just be selling vette stuff.I carry everything for all the muscle cars, trucks, open wheel, circle track, drag racing, engine building, transmissions, rearends, gears, suspension, crate engines, and everything else you can imagine, and everywhere in between. It's going to take awhile to get this all together, but that is the direction I am going.I wanted to still keep the Vettes by Design, because that started it all,and I have a shop full of vettes I own,but also, have some Stangs out back, and appreciate all muscle cars.
Sorry for the long windiness, but there is the skinny w/my situation.
I'm glad to be over here.I've been backing up from the CF for some time now. It's gotten alittle strange over there in the last year,or so!
I went @ Twin Turbo as soon as I joined to see where I stand, and how I am able to move around here, and he said it was okay to sell parts,or offer guys parts, but no banners, etc.I can respect that, and appreciative of the movement I have, plus this is the kinda shit I am into, anyways.

Good to see you here Gary!
Kevin

Well, VBD, I bet you'll find it a little more comforting here. CF has taken a bad turn for the worse from what I've seen (I joined just after all the fallout of what seems like the big turn around point in July of '07).
Like Gary had said, there are so many blow hards over there that get the majority fo the attention and 'authority' when it comes to advice. My expertise and experience is no where near the level of the top 20 guys here, but even I can see a lot of bad advice being handed out like free candy out of a brown van. If it wasn't for the LSx swap thread in CF tech, I would have no reason to visit there.
Good luck with the business, man.

Well I thought over my response and rather then beat a dead horse I removed it. I haven't changed my position but it does no one any good to start a feud with a forum I am no longer part of. I'll let it go and move on.

Kevin you're going like here. There is a whole lot more of what really interests you!

It's all good Gary.I have nonthing, but respect for you,and understand your position completely!Believe me...I do!I'm moving on too,and hoping for the best w/the business.I have went thru alot of changes here recently, and trying to keep my head up.:clobbered:

Welcome to VetteMOD

just out of curiosity I googled "rebuild corvette differential" and Gary is the #1 search result :1st::1st::1st:

....and it's not a link to CF :bounce:
