Holy Crap

Geoff, you and me both know how the hippy mentality and now over the last couple of decades, the .gov have hated GM, and the Corvette by extension...

IMO, it's the end of the road....I predicted this well over a year ago with the popularity of that commie bastard in the WH now....

It has more to do with the economy in the tank and "toy" purchases at a low, than any "widespread govt. conspiracy."

MAY want to look at just WHY the economy is in the tank, and yes the blame starts with the crooks in Congress, and goes through to Wall st.....

the collective ineptitude in this country's 'leadership' is astounding....

What gets me is the way the laws are stacked in favor of white collar and govt. crime. There is not much to deter the powerful from raping our assets.:tth:

I'm sorry, we have gone O.T. again.

I agree with b2b.... not much extra money out there for "non essential" purchases just now. Get housing and lending back on track and you will see some fun money starting to flow again. The Corvette will survive for now.

Last year, Nov 08, with GM's upcoming bankruptcy, being bought out by the government, and a mid winter 08/09 halt in production, I decided that there was some probability that the Corvette was heading for extinction. Not wanting to be left behind, I bought a new 08. For my tastes, it's the best car I've ever owned. I really like the fact that for street driving, it's very placid, an quiet. Tremendous power, even with the base engine if you floor the gas pedal. It's faster than the muscle cars of the late 60's. And it gets good highway mileage.

If you want to make sure you're driving a late model Corvette in the future, I'd think it'd be a good idea to buy one now.

68/70 I hear you, but I have no desire to own a newer car....because of having to deal with a total abject overload of computer crap....and .gov regs as to what I CAN and CAN't do with it....

Glad Florida don't have any stupid shit laws....they managed to dump them out some years before I got here.....but what with this .gov bullshit coming up, they maybe well go nutz again....

one way or another, fuck 'em.....I"m NOT inspecting or knuckling under on my car...simple as that, they want a fire fight...fine, I"m going after .gov high up officials....the kind of nitwits that dunno and don't have security....
