Hood insulation

I've used simular products inside the cabin to keep heat and noise out and it works pretty well. My main concern would be the adhesive, as my engine compartment gets pretty hot. On the floor, it couldn't go anywhere but under the hood???
If you go this route, you can probably get something cheaper on ebay.

the one i would look for would have a black hard plastic outside lining to it. i wonder if you could make one? or get an upholstery shop to sew up an outside lining for it

I even thought of using something like Lizard Skin http://www.lizardskin.com/car-ceramic-insulation.html , I sent the company an email but they have not gotten back to me. (why do they have a tech question application on their web site but don't answer inquiries...I am only looking for information about whether I should buy their freaken product) :suspicious::hissyfit::suspicious::banghead:
