Hood Latches

It's happened to me a couple of times in my '73 that both hood latches came unlatched while driving. Both times I was turning a corner fairly aggressively and the road was rough (washboard).

I haven't looked at it yet but was wondering if anybody knew if the latches could be adjusted to hold better.

Yes, you can adjust them. It is a hit or miss type deal. Just loosen the bolts and tap the latches over just a very little bit, maybe just 1/32" at a time. You can adjust both the position of the latch and the spring tension. But, with the severe frame twisting of the c3, it may still do it once in a while.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try next time I think about it - which means I'll probably forget until the next time it happens.
