Hooker Side mount headers advise

It's to replace the mounting ear originally located on the cast iron manifold. If your alt mounts off the head bolts, which it should, you are fine. Only the fuelie heads w/ no accy holes had manifold mounted alts if I'm not mistaken

you do not need it if your alternator mounts to the head using the bolt holes in the head. If you need this bracket I have one in the garage somewhere....

When I install them does the rocker panel trim have to go?

you might have to cut the rocker panel to clear the primary tubes. It's not necessarily the same amount left/right, test fit first then cut....

If your panels are in good shape and if you don't want to cut them, then try to find some cheap used panels and cut those, not sure if they make repros...
