I've just read over Enkei's thread about his center console, and it got me thinking about doing the same thing since my interior needs to be re-done anyways.

So I have a few questions for you guys

1. What can I put over my stock center console pieces to make a mold without completely destroying them?

2. What is the process when using fleece?

Any other suggestions/tips are welcomed

If you want to cover your console to make a fiberglass mold, auminum foil works. Wax it and nothing will stick. You can also use plaster with wire mesh or even straw in it as a negative mold too. It has the advantage that it tends to warp less than unsupported, thin glass molds.
I think I've seen kit for the fleece method on ebay. You need to build a frame, usually out of wood. Stretch and staple the fleece in place. Coat with resin, then bondo to make smooth or upholster over it.

Garys 68 - should I use pam? I've read that people use that (btw thanks for the quick outlines)

I dont think it matters much, not much sticks to aluminum foil anyway. West Marine and fiberglass suppliers sell a release agent, pva, it's probably not much different from Pam. I've used car wax...just because it's in my garage (free). Release from a fiberglass mold is more difficult. That's where a plaster mold works great. Just break it apart and sand out any adhesions.
If you need other materials for molding, styrofoam dissolves with gas or acetone. Home wall plaster and cheap kids elmers glue will dissolve with water or "Lime Away" from a fiberglass resin structure.
Check out my build thread in the projects. My latest molded glass project was the intake tube and filter cover for my efi.
