How to modify this windshield header panel to fit my 82

I need to narrow the opening a lot so it fits the 3rd latch receiver on my car. I thought about using 69-75 stuff but it won't work because of the diferent dash of the 82. I am not sure of what it is made of or possibly a fiberglass replica of it could be made and then just covered with vinyl.

do you have a panel with the correct opening ? if so, cut the section out and glue it in the panel you want to use, then fill/paint... should work just fine but is a bit of work.....
