I need some prep advice before I start fiberglassing this scoop in place.

Obviously it is a graft to a 1982 hood. My questions are related to after I grind the areas to be fiberglassed what is a good cleaner to prep the areas? Any other advice to get this project done welcomed.

I also have to graft the l-88 rear inner hood frame support to my existing frame.

After glassing what is best applied to the surface for a nice finish?

best possible bonding stuff to secure areas of the scoop back to the original inner frame?

it looks like the scopp is on the original hood skin but the original skin has been cut out and areas where it was bonded to the inner frame it was separated. So some of the scoop will be bonded to the inner frame again.

I am also unsure of what material this scoop is made from (resin) ... I have watched a few valvoline epoxy smc repairs that seem to provide an original type repair

as seen in this video but not sure my repair is doable with this system.

here is what I am working with. I also plan on when done making a mold of the outter skin if anyone wants a bond on L88 hood skin.

Since I used this 8115/8116 adhesive I am convinced it can pretty much glue anything to anything. I highly recommend it, money well spent...

I hit the bonding surfaces with 40 or 80 grit, the rougher the better for the best possible "grip" for the glue. Wax and grease remover ist bet to prep the surfaces but if you use the 80 grit to prp then it should be clean anyways unless you poured some oil on it or touched the fiberglass with greasy hands.

make the bonding surface as big or wide as possible. how are you bonding the two pieces? overlap or backing strip ? with backing strip it will never come apart but you'll have more work getting the underside smooth.

Basically I cut the whole center section of the original hood skin out. In most areas it left the inner frame to bond this scoop too but some areas I guess I will have to use backing strips.

In the back area I can bond to the inner frame, as well as the very front and sections of the sides. After that I will have to graft in the raised rear inner frame section to support the back of the L88 scoop. Then fill the gap between the original hood skin and the scoop

i'd use a backing strip wherever the underside is accessible, strip can be made from resin/mat.

once the strips are holding the pueces together you can taper the gap at the top of the hood so the glue has more area to stick to.

only thing is that you need some room for filler on top of the 3M adhesive, I would not apply primer over it just to be safe.
