I want to remove the information sticker inside the driver's door so I can paint the door, rather than mask the sticker up (again) but I'd kind of like to have it there after the car's painted although not looking as shitty as it already does. Does anyone make repro's?

If I can't find a repro, is there any real need to keep the sticker at all apart from looks/originality? Any legal need to have it there?

From wheels to roof, there is not ONE damn thing 'stock' about your car, why on earth would you want a NCRS 'points' tag???

:eek::crap::smash:

Doesn't this vette have a pickup truck like bed in the back of it? I at first thought the car in your avatar was a photochop.

Oh good! I had though he rescued it and was restoring it & felt like giving him my 82 project LOL.

His project is way along, but he does need those convertible parts ok....:smash:..like I said, we gotta get more work outta him....

Oh, I would seriously have liked to make this into a convertible!

Looks a bit like this at the moment:

I've finshed all the body work now and apart from the information sticker inside the door, I'm ready to re-shoot the epoxy primer then bury it in some hi-build primer.

I can sell you all the vert parts and the upper deck is even setup for the 82's gas tank now. Mines all GM parts though I have the door glass, hard top, upper deck, hinges, decklid.

She's nice looking man! Congrats on having that cool of a woman.

Is your car a 82? I looked at your pictures and looked like it had CFI emblems on the fenders. Did you finish the fender louver install? I should just put the 90 in the garage and finish my 82.

Yeah, she's pretty cool and she humours me with the Vette photo's.

My car is an 82 and yes, apart from the final colour, I've finished the fender louver mod. I know the purists will put a bounty on my head but after final colour goes on, Stingray emblems will be going on the fenders.

You should finish your 82. As much as I'd love to take the vert parts off you, it would cost me big time to ship the stuff out here. And, I've had enough of modding for now, I so want to drive the old girl. Finish yours though, have something no one else will have or can go out and buy...

I like the fender mod you did, the stock 82 vents look well cheap LOL. I'm going to try and do it on my car as well. You should try grafting a long style L-88 scoop onto your hood like I am doing. Theres one for sale on CF.

The 84 cfi air cleaner looks a hell of alot nicer an a 82 as well. Especially if it were polished. I did that and was in the process of adding a 84 serpentine belt drive system and LT1 camaro dual cooling fans to the car. But never finished that part of the project.

This was the latest project I started on my 82 then stopped. I was going to polish a 1984 vette air cleaner and add the 84 serpentine drive as well. After that was done I was going to buy or chrome a lot of stuff uinder the hood.

I modded the fenders for the same reason - I though the original ones looked like a bit of an afterthought. Like shipping a windshield, a hood would cost an arm and a leg to ship out here. Besides, I like my little hood scoop mod

Did you manage to remove it?

You could always try to get the best picture you could of it, and then "fix" it in photoshop or other software and then print a new, perfect one. A quick, 30 second perspective correction and clean up of the one that you posted and I have the attached, with a better picture and an hour's worth of work and you could make a perfect one.

I removed the sticker ages ago, before I primed the car. I could have spent the time in Photoshop to tart the pic up but what would I print it out on? What would be weather proof etc?

Anyway, Kev was looking into some mob that made repro's for me. Any word Kev?

I haven't really looked that hard, but there are assorted plastics that can be used in a printer, I'm betting someone makes one that will work.
