odered obx sidepipes with no inserts. now I have to decide on what inserts to order. I was thinking sweet thunder, but what diameter? I want good rumble but not waking up the neighbors. Thinking 2.0 or 2.25 inch.
anyone out there use these or have suggestions?
 
I ran the Sweet Thunder 2.25" inserts and I liked the sound but then decided that they might be too restrictive for the 383 that I built at that time... bought the Hooker Maxflow inserts in 2.5" and these are louder than the Sweet Thunder inserts.
I ran the Sweet Thunder inserts with a 350 so it's not a direct comparison, not sure how much the additional cubes and the hot cam affect the sound.
The STS baffles are by far the most expensive option but I admit I am curious how they compare to the Maxflows which get a little annoying at times... then again, I doubt the STS baffles are quiet :D
 
I got some spiral turbo inserts off ebay cheap ... they are still very loud, you can not sneak past the neighbor without waking him up ..... but killed the performance of my 572 ... very disapointed ... so i cut the cap off of the center tube .... performance was back now ... but now very very noisy !!!

I wounder what these would do to performance and sound if you used them for inserts?

They are cheaper than spiral turbos and might actually do some good???
