One of the wreckage shots of that shot down jet, shows the rear section of an engine setting there on the ground, and in the foreground is the first stage compressor fan, the one you look at in front of the engine.....
it's all bent to shit and busted up, but the primary shape of it is still intact.....

I used to make some NDT gear that inspected those things, 30 years ago....

The ones I played with were Titanium, today it must be Unobtanium one tough SOB.....

Don't know this for sure but most of the front swirl vanes these days are DMLS vanes with Inconel hub and casing.

Whoa!!!! Don't jump to conclusions- there's a lot of misinformation out there...How do you know it was shot down??

I heard there was an old lady that boarded the plane w/ a unchecked- what looked to be bottle of water- so It could have been a inside job....

My god we're doomed w/ this idiot in office...

We have two cats, BO is the larger brother, and he don't care about lasers.....but Diddley is the small sister, and she will go nutz over that light.....always good for a laugh.....:loveletter:

What I see is DMLS is a process. As far as I know the first blades are titanium. Not sure of the remainder sections. Inconel is high in nickle, 718 is common in aircraft engines other parts.

I had a piece/ring to machine, app 3 1/2 ft. in dia. non aircraft material. Raw, the price was over $70,000. We use inconel in our heat treat ovens. I do rebuild jet engine parts. I'm a machinist not an A&P mech. Also I have read, they are trying to 3D print jet engine parts now. Tim is one of the A&P guys here.

There was an eye witness account that saw that the plane was shot down. Here's the interview:
