Trying to help Gene out with a replacement left side upper A-arm. I've got one that I believe is a left side. The ball joint is offset towards one end, which would be the rear if this arm is a left side part. Is that correct?

thanks,
Mike

Yes, the balljoint is offset to the rear, for proper caster.

This is the left side arm here in the foreground on the right.

Sorry tp hijack - is there a difference front to rear for the upper shafts? I painted the tags by accident! They look the same left to right but do they have a front or rear?

Quick follow up. Once I have the lower bushings installed as far as I can pound/press them on they do not meet the shoulder on the shaft. When I tighten the bolts up all looks good. Is this ok?

Also they bolts will loosen when I work the arm through it's travel while holding the shaft in a vice. On the car I am sure it will not travel this far.

Does this make sense?

On urethane bushings it don't matter when/how you tighten the end bolts, as they self center, that sleeve is greased, but on the rubber style I am going back to, they have teeth on the sleeve ends, so the weight has to be on the suspension and settled, then tighten the end bolts, I use locktite red on the bolts, as I had one back out on my years ago...surprise...which one WAS it??

the one under the a/c compressor of course.....
