Looking for a "HOT" Vette?

Damn shame, note the carb on the car....fireball HOLLEY, but it's SO totally burnt up that I suspect arson.....

:crutches:

Damn shame, almost looks like the fuse box is where the fire started being that part has the most extensive damage

U rite....and I remember a fuse box on a '63 vert a old g/f owned, the fuse block was so rusty, I replaced it ALL with fuse clips and modern color spade fuses....the broad was SO dumb she got another used harness with fuse block and had that installed...

the problem is the cartridge fuses are held by STEEL clips that are just crimped to copper link under the block, and so with a little water or condensate...it's toast....

most often the high resistance/heat producing clip will actually melt the solder internal to the fuse itself, opening the connection on that end without 'blowing' the fuse....seen that a LOT over the years....

I will take the spade fuses in molded rubber weather tite sockets...

which are better than the stupid GM solution on the C4 with the fire/burn prone spade fuse block inside the pass door with the useless cover over it....one leak on that water sucking open cell foam weatherstrip, and the fuses corrode and catch fire....seen a few of them too....

:surrender::smash::eek:

must be a chinese chrome junk alt, they are so crappy even fire doesn't want to touch them
