Lots of questions

Hello fellow Vette Community!! My father has always had a passion for Corvettes and that passion rubbed off on me at a very young age. 30 years later, we purchased our very first Corvette. It's a 2001 Convertible and we couldn't be more pleased with it. It's much more than a car to us, it's also a way for us spend some quality time and be a part of a elite group of people who own a part of the Corvette legacy.

That being said, we have some aspirations for the car and your knowledge and experience in the posts are much appreciated. We replaced the rotors and calipers just a couple of weeks ago and are currently deciding on our next project. We have lots of questions and look forward to interacting with you all.

Welcome to vetteMOD :hi:

The LS1 is a great engine, responds very well to head/cam swap and headers, actually it responds well to all the bolt-on stuff that out there. I have heard mixed opinions on the MAF, the stock one seems to be pretty good and aftermarket is not always an upgrade.
What are you looking for ? More HP or suspension upgrades ? Headers and a nice stainless exhaust would be my first upgrade. If you're not into cam/head swap then get a handheld programmer like the Diablosport Predator, that is money well spent, used roughly $200.
 
I was looking into cold air intakes....have had many opinions and I don't know which way to go.....Someone told me to go with the Blackwing but I seem to be seeing a lot of stuff out there pushing the vari ram system. As for exaust, I'm leaning toward the borla stinger. I guess the overall goal is to get some HP but not be obnoxiously loud and crazy. I can't keep the car under 90 as it is. Thanks for the help in advance

A buddy has a C5 with Borla's. It's not really very loud until you really get on it. Not sure what he is using for cold air intake. I'll have to check.
 
But the borlas will be very loud with headers and dual exhaust...very very loud.

I don't think these are stingers, they are actual mufflers...but they don't muffle very well.

They are screaming loud when you nail it, it's awesome LOL
 
Thank you for the info, I do like the sound of the Borla exhaust. Any particular preference on headers or intake?
