I was looking for injector cleaner a while back and someone suggested lucas top end lube and inj. cleaner. Used it a couple of times on the Ford Exp. and I guess it keeps the injectors clean.

What does the top end lube do? Is it worth it? Snake oil?

techron is the only one I have ever used that showed an improvement.

Lucas makes some of that for diesels- that stuff works great. Are we talking about a gasser or an oil burner?

Techron was the recommended stuff from GM.

The new "low sulpher" diesel dosen't lube the diesel injector as well as the old stuff did- that's where to top end lube comes in.

Not a gasser:lol: Doesn't burn oil either.

Just trying to keep the injectors clean and thought there may be some added benefit of a top end lube for a higher mileage engine. (132k).

There comes a point where any additive can only do so much....depends on the injectors too.

I like the Techtron cleaner, have better results with that.

I've been using Lucas in both my gas and diesel engines in my house. I've recommended it when I was a service manager. Lucas has been around for a very long time. Forrest started out making the oil additive for diesel engines and found out it just plain works well. The biggest thing the oil additive does is, it is a heavy additive and makes the oil return to the pan faster. I've used the injector cleaner in my new 08 2500HD diesel, no problems. It's been in my Corvette, my Harley-Davidson since I've owned them all.

So, yes, use it. No, not a snake oil. But like I told all my customers, and I'm sure you know too, there is NO "mechanic in a can".

The top end lube I really prefer is Marvel Mystery Oil added to the gas. I used it in all my VW based engines with great results.
