Moding a c3 trailing arm to accept C4 hub bearing anyone done it?

To eliminate the costly rebuilding of the bearing stuff.
I could bet my bearing redone my Gary for 500$, including parts. Dunno if you'd save anything with such grafting.

I dont think a c4 bearing is much more then 150.00 but it's the time and complications of rebuilding that would be eliminated verses just unbolting a c4 hub bearing and bolting a new one in.

It could be done. I've looked at it. The dowside it it would take some machine work to do and, as Marck said, you still have a trailing arm.

You can't polish a turd!

in my opinion, there's no benefit that justifies the effort.... the C3 bearings last a very long time if built correctly, I just did it and it's less than $500 in parts incl new spindles (my memory....)

now... if you already have all the parts then ... why not ??

I keep kicking around how to do just the opposite (C3 spindle in a C4 knuckle). The C3 spindle/bearing assembly seems to be bulletproof if assembled correctly, whereas there's no shortage of threads on Corvette websites regarding how often the C4 bearing assemblies fail when used a lot in competition or track days.

Regarding the OP, it doesn't seem like it would be that big of a deal to put C4 bearing assemblies in a C3 trailing arm. I had to make a custom bearing assembly holder for the C4 setup I put in the '69 (to make it easier to mount the Wilwood calipers), and a slightly different design should be possible to package into the C3 trailing arm.

My reasoning was, while I do have a complete front and rear 1990 suspension. I could do without the complete 90 rear suspension if that nice hub bearing could work. I rarely ever drive a car hard so the c4 rear suspension really isn't necessary. I just wanted the ease of bearing changes without the hassle of making all the C4 stuff fit.
