Have to go to another tach, since the engines redline is too high for the factory tack.

Anyone ever mount a universal tach in a C3 ? If so where ? Pictures ? Which brand/type ?

Thanks

I mounted a tach above the dash. Sorry no pic but what I did was take some sheet metal and shaped itso that it was bent over the dash. Used the two top screws on the center console to anchor the front then used a tab going back to the defrost vent extent to attach the rear. I welded a tach bracket to this plate. Worked great and no extra holes.

Depends on the diameter of the gauge, but seems like it would take a lot of your view out of the windscreen away and it's small like it is.

I was thinking of mounting it somewhere on top of the steering column.

IIRC, there are plans for cutting out brackets/metal mounts for a typical tach, and mount it to the stock dash......I THINK they are online here....

:shocking:

Belgian I thought the same thing about blocking view but turned out to be no problem. After first day you don't notice it and it is nice to easily see the tach pointer and shift light in the normal and track driving field of view.

Why not send your existing tach in for recalibration and silk screening to a higher redline??
