This is a father and son project to get my old Vette in to a running order. He is JJMartin78 and has posted pics of the Vette we will be working on. It started life as a 1969 model I think the build code was L-71 but I'm not positive on that. It was a 427 tri power motor with a factory claimed 400 horse. Wish I would have kept the tri power set up. The motor in it now is a 427 truck block bored out 60 thousands, custom made 7 to 1 compression forged pistons, steel forged crank. The block was balanced and blueprinted. The block was o-ringed with solid copper head gaskets and roller cam. Induction system is a GMC 6-71 supercharger 12% overdriven with twin modified 750 holly double pumper carbs. It was fueled by 110\120 av-gas. Ignition system is a vortex mag. I rebuilt the tranny with a B&M track kit and it held up well with power going through it as did the stock diff. The sway bar linkage didn't do so well, twisted it like a pretzele(wish they had spell checking on this site). The front was lowered with custom made coil springs. Body is stock except for the ZR-1 rear wheel flairs. I designed and painted the car myself using metal flake and candy colors. It was laquar based with a poly-urathane clear coat and beleive it or not if you wash it to get the dust off, it shines like the day I painted it in 1980. It has never been waxed. Sorry for the long post.
