no left turn signals

Took my 63 out today. Everything worked except the left turn signals. Anything simple might be causing this? They where working when I stored it last fall.

If both are not working it's probably inside the column. Try pushing the stalk down a little further and see if they work then, some grease may have contaminated the contacts. Had that happen on V-Twins car.

A bad bulb would not cause the other one to quit working, isntead it would flash faster (if you have a load dependent/non heavy duty flasher)

Got them working, for now. It has a small cable, about the size of a guitar string that runs under the dash to a push pull switch. the left was not moving the cable enough to turn the switch on.. must be a 63 thing???

I have had this happen twice on different cars. Both times it was just a bad bulb. I hope yours is as simple as that. If the flasher is working on one side it's a good bet or it's possible the turn signal flasher is going bad.

If the turn signal flasher works for one side, it's not bad. The flasher does not know what side it's flashing - the same flasher and same circuit operates both sides.

Thanks You should see how it works, :bonkers: damnest blinker system I've ever seen. I took a dental tool to pull the cable back and forth, to find the right range of motion.

Could it be updated to a 64 and up?

63 has many one year parts, check out the parking brake cables running on the drivers side

Buddy of mine has a 63, his blinkers aren't working either, must be the cables too.
