I don't think this would work here in the US (or any other civilized country for that matter)..... to me it's a miracle they drive like this and survive.... :lol:

Eh, puzzy, you should drive the Wash DC Beltway I 495 at any time....

then to show my age....I remember it as a dragstrip when it opened in '63? no one knew WTF to do with it, it was just this 'highway to nowhere'.....

the interstate hwy system changed this country forever.....

why in hell we think every digger/grader we can make is going to CHINA??

:drink::evil:

I used to go to Taiwan in the 90's and it was just like that. There were no lines painted in the street, no stop lights, no signs and the streets were jammed with cars, scooters, bicycles, carts, pedestrians, etc. At certain times of the day, the street would become a one way street because most people wanted to go that way. Then later, it might switch.

You could never get Americans to pull this off because it requires cooperation. I'll give the Chinese credit for that. They are not at all a dog eat dog culture.

Interesting....from all the :chinese: I have known at university and in medical research I would say the opposite.

They have escaped from the community culture to the competitive culture, and indeed were competitive in their country to start with....attitude alone.....

I've been in rural China three times and it is exactly like that. If you want to cross the road you have to look in four directions instead of just two.:mobeer:Art

Just to stir the pot, I've visited several "civilised" countries recently and they drive very similar to that. After driving with the lunatics out here for 12 years, I was definitely NOT prepared to drive in Paris or Rome :bonkers::bonkers:

Paris is bad but I don't even like to be a passenger in Rome. I presume they drive that way because they have long since lost their licenses so have nothing further to lose.

When I used to work in Siberia, I would just sit in the back seat and close my eyes. I didn't want to see death coming.

I did the same thing in Khazakstan---

Driving in Rome is a treat too. Not to mention Kuwait.
