Man, you scratching my memory, but as I recall it was a option for '72 also, so certainly earlier, and wether dealer or factory option I can't remember....
I know MY car never came with any pass side RV mirror.....

AND there were two different sizes to the mirrors also.....identical mounts, etc...but a large mirror and a small mirror.....
go figger.....
When I got my car it was that way....I put on the later more 'streamlined' covered mirrors as they are adjustable from inside on my side, and they stay that way in parking lots, especially annoying on the pass side, someone taps that mirror and that antiquated POS is outta adjustment yet again.....only too ONE tap for me to change the damn style....
