I got word from my engine builder that my 383 is almost done. I am looking at Energy Suspension motor mounts. Anyone have any experience with them? Any recomendations? Thanks, Jack

I installed poly mounts from Summit after I found a rubber mount torn into pieces.... so far so good....

Been a few decades, so I forget the routing, but on our olde tyme Pontiac drag cars, we took a chain to the shock tower, from the engine....

it was set to about 1/4 some odd inches of slack....I just used the end of the shock absorber, figgering it was a whole lot less than any road bump....

I'm running the poly mounts in Ol' Red too. No problems. If I had to do it again, I'd probably just go with solid mounts and be done. But the poly is in there and poly it will stay.

If you're going to go with the poly, you may as well run solids: You're getting no vibration damping with the poly, so you have all the vibration of a solid without the benefit of the strength...

That's what I did, solid in front, rubber at the trans.
Had rubber with a big cam SBC, they broke. Put polys in with the LS motor. The LS was REALLY smooth, so I swapped out for solids in front. It's a convertible with sidepipes, so any extra vibration would hardly be noticable.

I used ES poly engine mounts in my 72, has 2,000 miles so far fine. Put the same in my sons 75 and they have a had 10-15k miles and are loose now. They should be replaced when that engine comes out. I've never used solids so I can't say.
The ES trans mounts are the wrong dimension as well, I have a new one here and compared it to the stock and there was a 250 height difference. I used Prothane trans poly mounts. If you plan on using ES and want to use thier trans mounts I'll sell it cheap. I called them and was told by a tech those were not for the corvette or 1st gen camaro, but that was never in any info from ES or Summit.
