Long time ago, I rebuilt the one that was on the '72 and it worked same as before but no leaks for about 2-3 years.....but that was maybe until Y2K or so, then it started dripping, and end of 01-early 02 I put in a rack and didn't look back....
but that was then, I understand the kits today are not so good, and leak quickly...India rubber anyone???:hissyfit:
It's been said that Lonestar Caliper? out of Texas is a good supplier for new valves, but I dunno personally....

I am just trying to figure out whether I should try to rebuild one or just get a new one. Same with the pump and ram. I have read some pretty bad things about "remanufactured" valves.

My experience...you can rebuild them, but they will eventually leak...at least the ones I have done eventually leaked:lol: I also tried rebuilt rams....leaks.

I would get a new valve from Lone Star, a "SS" sleeved ram from VB and P, and any rebuilt "C-3" pump. The pump has one seal, two o-rings, and rarely wears out. Contact "Tracdog" here on the forum for good prices.
