Power window rebuild ???'s

I need to rebuild the power windows on my '79. I have adjusted and tuned as much as I can and have finally admitted that the parts are just too far gone, the windows will wobble and rattle until I get some NEW stuff in there. The latest trick my car has learned is to leave the drivers side window up and make a horrible chatter when I ask it to lower the window via the switch. I can lower the window with "manual assist" and get it to go back up OK but I am sure that won't last too much longer either.:ghost::ghost::ghost:

What all parts do you recommend and where to get them? Does anyone have an outline or a Tech paper (Lars?) on this rebuild procedure?

Been a LONG time, some 15 years, but I got my window regulators from Yogi Bear Behr?? and they been fine.....I coated the sector gear with heavy grease and so they are pretty much rust free....

Sounds like your gears are shot. Could be the regulator and/or motor gear. I have a R side regulator almost new that I removed from my car. Short version is that the doors sagged too bad when I cut the top off for the vert conversion so I gutted the doors. I thought I had a motor too, but will have to look for it. PM me if interested in the regulator, it will go cheap. :D
