You may recall my recent carbie/ rod bearing problems. The E-bay Q-jet and new bearings seem to be working perfectly so the problem is behind.

Thusly, I'm looking to get the original carb overhauled. I'd saved a link to Cliff's as there was a lot of chatter about them being the ultimate restorers. When I contacted them I got a lot of runaround and was told they couldn't do a thing for months?

Anybody know what's going on? Better yet, can you recommend an equivalent resource?

I see tons of valuable data from "Lars" but don't know who he is. Is his shop an option?

Thanx, Steve

Lars wasn't so much a restorer as a rebuilder and tuner. Simply put, he'd make your q-jet work perfectly. He no longer does these though,so it isn't an option.

When he stopped doing rebuilds, he recommended a shop in San Bruno CA, Ole's Carb and Electric. I had Henry do a carb for me a couple of years ago and seemed to know his stuff. Don't know if they exist any more, but the phone number was 650-589-7377

Cliff is good, but he's running about a 1-year backlog on Q-Jet rebuilds right now. Henry over at Ole's carb is very good - you can tell him I recommended him - he knows me well.

Thanx Lars,

I'll call him on Tuesday.

I never noticed your name next to your Avatar, forgive me...I guess my eyes were always drawn to the familiar image ;-))
