Real Bad Day

Last night, took the diesel pickup for a little trip to do some parts swapping, noticed the smell of raw diesel on the way home. No problem, return line occassionaly pops off- 30 minute fix. Then I noticed the oil pressure was not normal. Got home checked the oil- smells a little like fuel, but with all the raw fuel in the air, I figured no deal. This morning, raining- BIG TIME- couldn't see any oil on the dipstick. Look underneath, and oil is dripping out of the bellhousing. Went under the thing and it's mostly fuel. Pulled the drain plug- 5+ gallons of fuel and oil in the bucket. (Glad it's diesel!) So now I need $2200 worth of injectors plus all the seals. Good news there, fresh oil and the pressure is normal.

On top of that, the wife's car has been in the shop for 30 days- parts are on national backorder, they needed 3100 of the SAME parts. Chrysler is not paying their bills so the vendors are not shipping- go figure. But her extended warranty buys a rental car for 10 days. Called them at 7a and they said no problem- go to get the rental and they said after we got there that it'll be after 11a before they have any cars.

Real fun day. I need to go back to work to relax.:surrender:

I have a story, but can't top that one. Getting the truck ready for the summer trip.
1) New Bilsteins
2)New fuwl pump
3)Cleaned the TB, and the idle/stalling problem went away.
4)Change oil/filter
5)Service tranny\6)Clean MAF and K&N
6)Change plugs/109,000 miles
7)Front end alignment

Truck is running/handling great. Go to work this AM, and for the first time ever, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT comes on.:hissyfit: WTF!!! No good deed goes unpunished.:lol:

Who me? mess with something that is not broke? NEVER :smash:
I know i should practice what i preach :footmouth:
But i feel i can squeeze some more ponies out of my set up :push:

I hope i have better success than what Karsten is having

I'm still pissed about my cardone booster working 3 times and then crapping out, if I was in your shoes the fire dep would be in route for a car fire

Note to self. When cleaning TB assembly, be sure that MAF tube and clamp are reinstalled properly. Amazingly, it clears the MAF code and equalizes the fuel banks. (Thanks Doug).:footmouth:

Glad I could help Jeff:thumbs: .....funny thing was it took us longer to get the scanner to work than to fix the problem:twitch:

If it concerns me.....Probably not:(

sorry to hear about it, tim. especially the wifey's car. i'm sure chrysler is paying 50x more for a rental car than the part would cost to replace. yet more reason for me to not buy anything new.
seems building shit to last is a rapidly fading art.
