recommend a good water pump kit

I'm looking for the best quality rebuild kit for my water pump. Locally we have Napa, Auto Zone, and O'Reilly's.

I like the EMP/Stewart Components pumps, wouldn't mess with a rebuild kit.

I sent a couple of MacKay water pumps into Howard Stewart for rebuilding back when HS owned the company....at the time I thought it was reasonable...years ago you could buy a wp rebuild kit from GM...I probably still have one around here somewhere...........

NAPA would have the better kit.

Thanks for the advice. I'm really looking to rebuild alot of the components for the experience. The car never had overheating problems when we drove it years ago. I'm sure rebuilding the pump would be suitable for a stock car.

Cast impeller...the good stuff, all of the junk you buy nowadays has shitty stamped impellers. Hence my advise, buy a new pump w/ billet or cast impeller.

I agree with TT, I have a Stewart high volume water pump on my 383 and noticed an improvement in flow and cooling.
